Frequently Asked Questions

What is Ink and Toner Planet and how does it work?

Ink and Toner Planet is a small business that refills and manufactures printer cartridges. We professionally inspect, clean, refill and test all major brands of ink and toner cartridges. Customized online order forms make it quick and easy to place orders and we are happy to provide Net 10 billing for our established business customers (Credit Card Authorization form located here). We provide free next business day delivery for both businesses AND residential customers (with every order exceeding $50*).

Why should I get a cartridge from Ink and Toner Planet instead of somewhere else?

At Ink and Toner Planet we offer savings of 50%, but unlike other sources, we use hundreds of different inks to match the exact formula your cartridge needs. On laser toner cartridges we replace all the necessary parts that we can to ensure that you have the quality and performance that you expect. That’s how we can guarantee satisfaction. Many of these cheap, plastic compatibles that some local vendors import overseas break the law by violating HP, Canon, Epson and other manufacturer patents. Those who use them unknowingly (you, as the end-user) could still be prosecuted and the supply could be shut off at any moment. We sell some compatibles when the quality is favorable and when there are not intellectual property violations.

Do you offer any guarantee?

Yes. Every cartridge we sell comes with a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. Even on rare occasions if a cartridge tests correctly for us and then fails in your printer, we will fix it, replace it, or refund it – whatever it takes to make it right. We have convenient customized online ordering and are cartridge experts so we can troubleshoot problems and advise on printers. On our Facebook page, we even have a quiz to help you choose your next printer!

How are you helping the environment?

By refilling and remanufacturing ink and toner cartridges, we are helping keep industrial grade waste from sitting in our landfills for hundreds of years. By reusing the empty cartridges we cut down on the energy wasted in making new ones, save on packaging them, and then shipping to help reduce the carbon footprint.

What if I don’t have an empty cartridge or I’m not sure which cartridge I need?

You don’t have to have an empty cartridge to buy a refilled one, although we are happy to provide you with a free prepaid return label to send your empty cartridges in for recycling. You could also take them to your local Staples for Reward Points! If you don’t know the cartridge you need, just tell us the printer you have and we’ll be happy to look it up for you.

How long does it take to get a refilled cartridge?

We offer Next Business Day delivery and have a large inventory of both inkjets and lasers, more than any other local vendor has in stock locally. We can get hard to find cartridges when others can’t, due to our vast network.

Will buying and using your cartridges void my printer warranty?

No. Our cartridges do not void printer warranties. This is mandated by the Magnuson-Moss Act of 1975 that protects consumers from unfair treatment under product warranties.

Is this legal? Yes! Our cartridges are refilled and use custom inks that do not violate patents. There are a few cartridges that we cannot legally refill, but we have brand new cartridges available in those cases.

Do your cartridges work as well as the name brands?

Yes. Our cartridges are refilled with premium ink and toner that is matched to each specific cartridge series. We test cartridges whenever possible to ensure that they are performing just like a new one. However, some printer manufacturers have prompted your computer to install “firmware upgrades.” By performing this update you are doing the manufacturer a huge favor by installing all of their new codes embedded in the electronics of their brand-new cartridges. Once you’ve completed this firmware update, there’s a risk that the Ink and Toner Planet cartridges you enjoy using may be locked out. The obvious solution is to “just say no” to firmware updates in the first place. But they are generally irreversible… so what do you do if you’re stuck with a malicious firmware update? If you think you’re having these issues try Installation & Tips before resorting to reinstalling your original printer driver or considering a new printer (which would generally be more cost effective than being locked into OEM cartridges).

Do you deliver?

Yes! We offer free no contact delivery to qualified businesses and to residential customers for orders exceeding $50 ($8 shipping for order under that amount). Email info@inkandtonerplanet.com with your printer model number(s) to receive a quote or place an order.
